If you want someone who will laugh, talk, and cry it up with you, all while providing you with an experience you will remember FOREVER -
then I am your girl
Engaged and starting your wedding planning? There are many fun things to consider when planning your wedding, but I know it can quickly get overwhelming. That’s why I like to suggest mood boards to my couples. It’s one of the easiest and most visually pleasing ways to gather all those wedding-related ideas you have!
Pinterest is an online mood board where you can “pin” photos, information, and ideas. If you’re not familiar with using a mood board for wedding planning, don’t worry! It’s an effortless and fun way to organize your ideas. A mood board is a collection of images with the same general theme. You can use these pictures as inspiration for your wedding. Pinterest has everything you will ever need. Food, decor, florals, locations, and so much more!
Many couples use Pinterest as a collaborative tool with me to share their vision for their wedding and engagement photos.
Start looking & pinning photos from other weddings that you connect with. When you do this you will start to find a style & theme of photography you are drawn to. Finding the style/theme will help when you are searching for a wedding photographer! For example, I would describe my style as romantic, timeless, and documentary. Therefore, my approach is to capture the story of your day as it unfolds in an authentic way.
You don’t need to have a name put to what you like; But, you need to enjoy it! When people share their Pinterest boards, I get a good insight into what photos make them feel, which is crucial.
The idea of sharing photos isn’t to copy another photographer but to gain inspiration for the feeling the image evokes.
One of the most fun things about wedding planning is choosing your colors and the overall look and feel you want your wedding to have!
However, if you’re like me, you probably have SO MANY things you like that it can be hard to choose. With a Pinterest wedding board, you can separate each aesthetic to view it in one place.
Doing it this way is an excellent way to ask for opinions. When you send the board to your besties, they can give you feedback on what they like, which can help you make a decision.
When picking a location, you want to choose somewhere that either means something to y’all or follows the theme you are drawn to.
Clients can send me photos of what they are inspired by. From there I can give them ideas of where we might find that look locally. Sometimes it takes a bit of scouting, but I always look for great places for photos.
For example, if you love the look of a sun-drenched field. We will want to schedule your session during “golden hour”. That pretty golden light that happens about an hour before sunset. If you like a more city vibe, Beaumont’s downtown area has a lot of great options.
Location boards aren’t only great for engagement sessions. They can also help you get a feel for what kind of wedding venue you are drawn to. Luckily in Southeast Texas, we have so many great options to choose from!
So, go ahead and create that Pinterest board! Maybe someone might be pinning some of your romantic photos someday! Let’s chat if you’re looking for a wedding photographer to capture your Pinterest-perfect wedding! I’d love to hear (and see!) what you are planning for your day.
